Description

 

The Fleet Supervisor is responsible for managing the day-to-day pick-up and delivery operations at the warehouse. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring procedures and operations are followed by warehouse team members, independent contractors and their team members, to increase efficiency and profitability, for greater customer satisfaction.

 

It is essential for the Fleet Supervisor to work closely with customer service, sales, and hub management to ensure successful customer-facing results. This position has various responsibilities including involvement in management of station linehaul operations and minimizing costs for linehaul in stations.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

 

  • Plan and organize the process of delivering inbound freight
  • Manage relationships with independent contractors, including ensuring the company’s compliance with the applicable agreement
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, federal, state, and local regulations
  • Communicate and discuss contractual changes and issues with Independent Contractors
  • Assist customer service in resolving pick-up and delivery issues
  • Accompany sales professionals on customer visits
  • Conduct safety meetings for Independent Contractors and their employees
  • Assist in hub sort processes if dedicated management is not available
  • Effective implementation of field operational processes
  • Ability to effectively provide team members with instruction on process and practice
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities

 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty. The attributes listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

 

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development, two-year degree in related discipline preferred.
  • Two (2) years operational experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Read, write, and communicate in a professional manner in English. Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred.
  • Apply knowledge of organization, communication, conflict resolution, and time management skills
  • Have intermediate computer skills – Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Data Entry

 

Work Environment

 

 Work is performed primarily in a warehouse environment with frequent interruptions from team members and independent contractors, and regular high noise levels. The environmental characteristics described here are representative of those a team member encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. 

 

Physical Requirements and Demands

 

  • Must be able to lift, carry, and push up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to maneuver and access all areas of the warehouse

 

Schedule

 

This position requires in-person attendance Monday through Friday during very early morning hours. In addition, some flexible yet required remote work later in the afternoon. This is a salaried position, and hours will be adjusted based on business needs.
