Starting Pay: $18.00 per hour

Schedule: M-F 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM - Must be available for overtime and weekend work as needed

 

General Purpose

 

Watco moves any commodity, and at this site, we handle primarily petroleum coke products. As a Dock Hand, you will assist the Operators with removing and resetting barge covers, climbing in and out of barges, and assist with securing and moving barges as needed. This position also requires operating a skid steer to move materials.

 

 Position Description

 

  • Must communicate to all crew members any special instructions for the day and ensure all Team Members complete the job safely.
  • Must be flexible and able to work any shift.
  • This is a full time outside job in all weather conditions.
  • Operate in a manner where SAFETY and ENVIRONMENT are of the highest importance.
  • Operate within Watco’s Customer First Foundation Principals with the customer, safety and the team’s goals always a priority.
  • Ability to understand Watco Transload and Intermodal safety rules and regulations.
  • Learn from directions, observations, and mistakes and apply procedures using good judgement.
  • Perform structural inspections as required.
  • Prepare equipment for product transfer.
  • Complete all applicable documentation, inspections and recordkeeping.
  • Ability to pass Safety Course administered by customer.
  • Perform all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Snow/weed removal as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to use ladders to access barges.
  • Ability to work near water.
  • Remove and reset barge covers
  • Secure and assist in moving barges as needed
  • Communicate with other team members using two-way radio
  • Ability to pass training and required testing
  • A Valid Drivers License is preferred for this position

  • Forklift, power tools, hydraulic equipment, power drills, and basic hand tools (i.e., wrench, screwdriver, sockets, measuring tape, etc.) PPE: hard hat, safety glasses, splash goggles, face shield, gloves, steel-toed boots, fire retardant clothing, full face respirator.
