Pay: $60,000 - $70,000 per year + commission

Who we’re looking for

 

The Sr. Business Development Manager is responsible for selling new and existing business while providing quality service to customers ranging from SMB-Enterprise size. Our Business Development Manager’s understand the complexity within the shipping market, building relationships, and how to serve as a true consultant to their partners. 

 

Daily Activities

  • Build, maintain, and grow customer relationships through cold calls and consistent communication
  • Ability to prospect, identify opportunities, and convert to active business
  • Utilize data and technology to strategically participate in RFP’s, contracted, spot, and project load opportunities
  • Operational efficiency: Build loads, scheduling, transit updates, issue resolution, and capacity securement
  • Cross-sell Watco intermodal, rail, water, and air services to our customers
  • Continuously update customers regarding service offerings, market trends, industry standards, and available capacity
  • Problem solve on a daily basis in a composed, professional manner
  • Meet or exceed core business KPI’s

 

Critical Experience, Skills, & Attributes

  • Prior sales and customer service experience highly preferred
  • Strong negotiation skills: confident, persuasive, and tactical
  • Sense of urgency: efficient time management skills and understanding of how to prioritize
  • Competitive, entrepreneurial, and self-motivated
  • Ability to overcome rejection and stressful situations
  • Work well within a team environment, be supportive, and be coachable
