The Shift Supervisor I is responsible for leading hub associates and/or temp workers in warehouse operations and activities including the receiving, sorting, and scanning inbound freight. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring procedures and operations increase efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING (OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED):
• Provide leadership to hub associates
• Supervise hub associates and/or temp workers
• Manage staffing schedules of associates and/or temp workers based on volume projections to help meet specific metric related goals
• Organize stocks and maintain inventory
• Inspect products for defects and damages
• Examine incoming freight
• Receive, unload, and place incoming inventory items appropriately
• Oversee the sort process to ensure it is done in an efficient manner
• Ensure team abides by all company safety and hygiene regulations
• Collaborate with day shift transportation team
• Contribute ideas on ways to improve or optimize warehousing procedures
• Keep warehouse clean and organized daily
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS & ABILITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty. The attributes listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
• Proficiency in inventory software, database, and systems
• Good organizational and time management skills
• Current forklift license or ability to obtain one
• High school degree or higher required
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed primarily in a warehouse environment with frequent interruptions from team members and independent contractors, and regular high noise level.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds at a time
• Must be able to adapt and work in warm and cold temperature environment
• Must be able to maneuver and access all areas of the warehouse
• Must be able to frequently stand, walk, and reach with arms
