The Senior Regional Operations Manager is responsible for providing support and guidance to multiple distribution operations and its staff under his/her charge.  These operations consist of cross-dock type facilities that receive, sort, and deliver office products, boxed paper, and other miscellaneous goods as well as the hub management staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING (OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED)

  • Set behavioral and performance expectations for the regional operations manager and subsequently the hub manager
  • Support the team responsible for the transportation, distribution & maintenance at Staples hubs
  • Lead regional operations managers and their hub teams to deliver cost efficiency and high levels of service
  • Support the startup of new operation locations
  • Initiate, coordinate, and enforce optimal operational procedures
  • Adhere to all legal requirements in warehousing and handling
  • Create a culture of health and safety, hygiene and security
  • Effectively communicate with customers, third-party providers, and internal teams
  • Assist the regional operations manager in the creation of hub operation plans and monitor for implementation
  • Provide weekly delivery metrics report to internal teams
  • Monitor and manage duties pertaining to weekly and monthly hub financials and implement procedures to aid in overall cost savings

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Proven work experience as a warehouse/distribution manager
  • Final Mile transportation experience preferred
  • Expertise in warehouse management procedures & best practices
  • Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives
  • Leadership skills and ability to manage and hold accountable staff
  • Strong decision making and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • BS Degree in logistics, supply chain management or business administration preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Sit, stand, walk, and reach with arms – Completion of paperwork, long consecutive hours of typing and using the computer
  • Talk daily to customers, team members, vendors, etc
  • Ability to travel up to 50%

SCHEDULE / HOURS / PAY

  • Monday - Friday (weekends as needed)
  • Schedule and hours vary based on operational needs
  • Salary Range $90,000 - $110,000 / year
