Warehouse Supervisor - Watco
This position will have competitive salary.
The Warehouse Supervisor leads a team in overseeing warehouse operations and processes such as the receiving, scanning, and sorting of inbound freight. Warehouse Supervisor will coordinate these activities with the team to ensure efficient operations, customer satisfaction, safety, and profitability.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING (OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED):
- Demonstrate predictable, reliable, and timely attendance
- Maintain a working knowledge of Watco Safety and Operating principles. Ensure hourly team members are properly trained on these principles, and these principles are enforced
- Possess a commitment to customer service, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment
- Interact with linehaul drivers and after hours care team if load changes occur
- Assist with the unloading of inbound linehaul trucks as necessary
- Oversee and assist with the sortation of freight
- Direct activities of Watco Warehouse Associates as well as temporary labor
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS & ABILITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty. The attributes listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
- High school education or general education development (GED) required
- Prior supervisory experience preferred
- Read, write, and communicate in a professional manner
- Must be able to use a computer, telephone, scanning devices, and applicable computer software
- Must be able to stand for extended periods
- Must be able to work around moving machinery and equipment
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed primarily in a warehouse environment with frequent interruptions from team members and independent contractors, and regular high noise level.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds at a time
- Must be able to adapt and work in warm and cold temperature environment
- Must be able to frequently stand, walk, and reach with arms
- Must be able to maneuver and access all areas of the warehouse
