POISTION OVERVIEW

 

Tire Technician is responsible for dismounting, cleaning of wheels, mounting and balancing of all heavy truck wheels. This person would also be responsible for keeping the tire area clean, tidy and organized. As a Tire Technician, this person would be accountable for properly and safely performing the tire and related services needed for all company owned units.

 

 

GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES

 

  • Service Commercial Tires, including dismounting, mounting, and balancing commercial, industrial, and light truck tires.
  • Inflating tires to prescribe PSI per load requirements.
  • Determine repairable tire conditions and make such repairs as needed on commercial industrial, and light truck tires.
  • Clean and maintain service equipment, maintenance on tools, and all other company property.
  • Properly execute required service tickets to submit to management and all other necessary paperwork as required.
  • Comply with OSHA regulations and safety requirements.
  • Wear proper PPE, use tire cages, and follow all other safety policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

 

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to be insured by company insurance policy. 
  • Must be able to stand on your feet for 8 hours or more.
  • Must be able to work shift work a 12 hour shift. 4 on 4 off
  • Must be able to communicate to supervision in a timely fashion if problems or questions should arise.
  • Must be willing to follow all safety procedures and work safely.
  • Must be able to work in a results-oriented, fast-paced environment as part of a team.
  • Must be willing to comply with pre-hire screening requirements

 

Physical Requirements

 

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. from floor to waist height.
  • Ability to carry minimum of 50 lbs. over a 5-foot span.
  • Ability to push/pull a minimum of 50 lbs. across a 10-foot span.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 20 lbs from waist to shoulder
  • Use their hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to bend or twist body without restriction.
  • Ability to kneel, stoop, crouch, or crawl.
  • Ability to work in extreme weather, including but not limited to high heat, low temperature, and high sun environments.
