MID-SHIP Logistics LLC is a unique non-asset Logistics Service Company that has found a niche for providing logistics services and coordination with an emphasis on dry bulk, break-bulk, and liquid cargoes.     A Logistics Manager, based in Houston, TX at MID-SHIP Logistics has an opportunity to provide a meaningful contribution to the growth of the company.   The local market is a customer rich environment and comes with a stable book of business to build upon. 

 

Responsibilities include the following: but not limited to; as the team member who accepts this position has the ability to build business which, as needed will be supported by adding new team members   

  • Develop customer and vendor relationships in the areas of bulk, breakbulk, and liquid cargo 
  • Execute and optimize logistics work being performed for existing MSL customers at ports through the United States
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers as needed 
  • Communicate with Key Customer Project Managers on a daily basis. I.e. lunch meetings, breakfast in the common area, project meetings, etc. 
  • Work to get in on the ground level for projects for MID-SHIP to be a part of the start up
  • Work with Customer Procurement Team to be sure we have all their needs covered
  • Work with Customer Strategic Sourcing Team to be sure we have all their needs covered
  • This will follow the process that MSL has established referred to as “start/stop/continue“
    • Start – What are we currently not doing that they would like to see
    • Stop – What are we currently doing that they would like to not see going forward
    • Continue – What are we currently doing that they are happy with as feedback
  • Handle visits to Customer sites as needed
  • Spending time in both NY and Pittsburgh for training 
  • Work to explain the customer online dashboard and for customer contacts to use it for information 
  • Work with Pittsburgh office to coordinate lunch and learns with key customer contacts (monthly/bi-monthly/quarterly/as necessary) 
  • Work to learn pipeline/natural gas business (growth potential)
  • Team members are expected to be responsive to customers as needed while within working windows
  • Teams are established to provide redundancy, and coverage by multiple team members
