POSITION OVERVIEW:

 

The Supply Clerk will play a key role in supporting the Facilities team and will be responsible for receiving deliveries and checking against orders. The Supply Clerk will prepare transfer documents and receipts, monitor inventories and prepare requisitions to restock items along with prepare items for shipment. 

 

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Maintain contract and purchasing files for auditing purposed and for forecasting pricing trends for developing future purchasing plans. 
  • Supervise supplies when they arrive at the warehouse.  Ensure the items received are not damaged.  Prepare a proper catalog for items in the Supply cage.
  • Implement and manage supply processes for accurately overseeing and maintaining inventory of select expendable and consumable items in the warehouse.  Organize warehouse in a manner that supports supply hub distribution.
  • Inventory Supply cage weekly. Setup a reorder/replenish point on all items stored.  Identify any inventory imbalances. 
  • Ensure that invoices are processed and filed in a timely manner.  Report all supply activities to higher management.
  • Ensure operational standards and processes are understood and reinforced at all levels.
  • Supervise the Watco Environmental Compliance Program
  • Operates trucks and forklifts as needed.
  • Other duties may be assigned, as requested or required. 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

 

  • High school education or general education development (GED); or 3-5 years of Supply Chain or Logistics experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must possess valid driver’s license.
  • Valid TWIC card or ability to obtain valid TWIC card upon hire. 

 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

 

  • Knowledge of and skills in Supply Chain Operations and Logistics.
  • Knowledge of and skills in Warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Knowledge of and skills in purchase ordering and inventory management.
  • Knowledge of and skills in customer service by aiding all current and potential customers.
  • Knowledge of and skill in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of and skills in Strategic Planning. 
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, expense reports, invoices and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to input data and create Excel spreadsheets for data tracking.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as area, circumference, length, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic shop math.
  • Ability to operate trucks and forklifts to move large volumes of product safely and efficiently.
  • Ability to lift supplies up to 50 lbs.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

 

This role involves a combination of frequent sitting and occasional physical activities like standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and pushing or pulling heavy objects (up to 125 lbs). It requires navigating varied environments, including balancing on uneven surfaces, operating foot and hand controls, and repetitive motions like typing. Additionally, the role may include exposure to outdoor weather, loud noise, and proximity to machinery, requiring the ability to see details and distinguish colors to ensure safety and ability to hear and respond to auditory signals and safety cues.
