Job Summary
Pay: $60,000 annually
Schedule: Monday - Friday from 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Location: 14035 Industrial Rd., Houston, TX 77015
As a Vessel Coordinator at Watco, you will play a crucial role in coordinating and supporting the coordination of vessel operations. This role ensures the efficient discharging/loading of cargo vessels, working closely with internal teams, such as terminal operations and dock operations, to ensure smooth and timely vessel turnaround. The Vessel Coordinator oversees all aspects of import/export cargo operations, ensuring that all safety, regulatory, and operational standards are met.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Coordinate and monitor the arrival and departure of cargo discharging/loading vessels in collaboration with internal operations teams
• Optimize vessel turnaround times by coordinating closely with terminal staff and cargo planners to manage cargo flow and resource allocation
• Ensure all required vessel documentation, such as cargo manifests, customs clearances, and discharge/loading instructions, are complete and accurate before vessel departure
• Ensure compliance with IMDG/DOT regulations
• Ensure compliance with international trade regulations
• Maintain communication with terminal managers and operations teams to provide updates on vessel readiness, cargo status, and any issues affecting vessel operations
• Ensure alignment between government regulations and international trade compliance standards
• Responsible for capturing all revenue for additional services
• Responsible for ensuring all customers have an account with active rates in place
