The Warehouse Inventory Specialist of Watco Logistics is responsible for managing and maintaining accurate inventory levels within the warehouse. This position plays a crucial role in monitoring stock levels, conducting regular inventory audits, and ensuring that all inventory-related processes are executed.  The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING (OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED):  

  • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels
  • Ensure stock is available to meet operational needs
  • Conduct regular inventory counts and audits to reconcile discrepancies and ensure accuracy in inventory records
  •  Update inventory management systems with accurate data regarding stock levels, locations, and movements
  • Enter inventory data into the warehouse management system (WMS) and maintain accurate records of all inventory transactions
  •  Generate and analyze inventory reports to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement
  • Work closely with warehouse staff, procurement, and sales teams to ensure seamless inventory flow and address any inventory-related issues
  • Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding inventory status, shortages, and overages
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements related to inventory management and contribute to the development of best practices
  •  Assist in the implementation of new inventory management technologies and systems
  • Collaborate with warehouse team to deliver cost efficiency and high levels of service

 

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS & ABILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty. The attributes listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:   

  • High School Education or a GED is required
  • Associate’s degree in Logistics preferred
  • Related work experience inventory management, warehouse operations, or related field preferred
  • Familiarity with WMS (Warehouse Management System) and inventory tracking software
  • Apply knowledge of communication, conflict resolution, time management, and analytical skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.) and inventory management software
  • Thorough understanding of applicable federal, state, local, and company safety policies
  • Ability to work with others and be a positive influence on co-workers

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed primarily in a warehouse environment with frequent interruptions and regular high noise level. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a team member encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
  • Must be able to adapt and work in warm and cold temperature environment 
  • Must be able to maneuver and access all areas of the warehouse
