The Warehouse Inventory Specialist of Watco Logistics is responsible for managing and maintaining accurate inventory levels within the warehouse. This position plays a crucial role in monitoring stock levels, conducting regular inventory audits, and ensuring that all inventory-related processes are executed. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING (OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED):
- Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels
- Ensure stock is available to meet operational needs
- Conduct regular inventory counts and audits to reconcile discrepancies and ensure accuracy in inventory records
- Update inventory management systems with accurate data regarding stock levels, locations, and movements
- Enter inventory data into the warehouse management system (WMS) and maintain accurate records of all inventory transactions
- Generate and analyze inventory reports to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement
- Work closely with warehouse staff, procurement, and sales teams to ensure seamless inventory flow and address any inventory-related issues
- Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding inventory status, shortages, and overages
- Identify opportunities for process improvements related to inventory management and contribute to the development of best practices
- Assist in the implementation of new inventory management technologies and systems
- Collaborate with warehouse team to deliver cost efficiency and high levels of service
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS & ABILITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty. The attributes listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
- High School Education or a GED is required
- Associate’s degree in Logistics preferred
- Related work experience inventory management, warehouse operations, or related field preferred
- Familiarity with WMS (Warehouse Management System) and inventory tracking software
- Apply knowledge of communication, conflict resolution, time management, and analytical skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.) and inventory management software
- Thorough understanding of applicable federal, state, local, and company safety policies
- Ability to work with others and be a positive influence on co-workers
Work is performed primarily in a warehouse environment with frequent interruptions and regular high noise level. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a team member encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
- Must be able to adapt and work in warm and cold temperature environment
- Must be able to maneuver and access all areas of the warehouse
