Description

 

The Endpoint Engineer is responsible for application packaging\deployment, technical documentation, and management of geographically dispersed Windows, MacOS, and IOS endpoints (desktop, laptop, and mobile). The Endpoint Engineer has a deep understanding of physical and virtual desktop management and best practices. They support the integration of endpoints with a variety of enterprise services. The Endpoint Engineer is responsible for the permanent resolution of issues and enhancing the platform by implementing both technical and process-based solutions.

 

 Responsibilities

 

  • Administer, operate, manage, and maintain components for Windows desktop deployments to include virtual and thick client environments
  • Create and maintain policies and deployment scripts
  • Create and maintain Windows OS baseline images and test for compatibility on new hardware models
  • Evaluate new software packages from various business units and prepare automated installation scripts for deployment
  • Collaborate/ interact with team members to gather technical requirements for the implementation of new technology solutions
  • Keep abreast of new tools and technologies that enhance endpoint management and delivery
  • Ensure workstation compliance is satisfactory to organizational standard
  • Serve as escalation point for break-fix endpoint incidents
  • Create and maintain supporting documentation, procedures, and workflows 
  • Assist with deployment of endpoint hardware as needed
  • Assist with improvements to operational practices and procedures
  • Some travel, 10%-20% 

 

Qualifications

 

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), Intune, and Autopilot
  • Strong experience building and using moderately complex PowerShell and Shell scripts for automation.
  • In-depth knowledge of creation and maintenance of operating system images (physical & Virtual), application packages and task sequences.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing and supporting Microsoft Windows operating systems and software in an enterprise environment
  • Strong understanding of centralized configuration methods and tools including Active Directory integration, GPO's, scripting and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with anti-virus and malware product integration within a Windows desktop configuration and remediation.
  • Experience managing Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP
  • Strong troubleshooting capabilities to develop and continuously refine processes to improve endpoint functionality and stability
