Position Summary

 

We are seeking a motivated and driven financial professional to join our Finance team as a Senior Financial Analyst. This role will support critical initiatives including capital structure planning, credit compliance, cash forecasting, investor communications, and internal financial processes. The position offers direct exposure to our bankers, equity owners, the CFO, and senior leadership, with a clear path for advancement within Watco.

 

The ideal candidate will have approximately 4-8 years of experience in Finance or Big 4 public accounting and the desire to take on increasing levels of responsibility. This role is designed for a self-starter eager to grow their career while delivering high-quality financial analysis and business performance updates for both internal and external stakeholders.

 

This is an on-site position in our Overland Park, KS office.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Manage activities related to capital structure, debt compliance, investor relations, financial planning, and forecasting.
  • Provide analysis and performance updates to internal and external stakeholders including bankers, equity owners, the CFO, and rating agencies.
  • Maintain and enhance a 10-year driver-based strategic plan, including a 3-statement model, to support capitalization decisions.
  • Prepare materials for quarterly investor updates, board meetings, lenders, and due diligence processes.
  • Lead the preparation of the company’s cash budget and cash forecasting on a monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Analyze governing agreements (debt, operating, joint ventures) and assess financial implications.
  • Support refinancing and issuance of credit facilities by interpreting credit agreements and covenant requirements.
  • Collaborate across business segments to provide financial insights for strategic initiatives.
  • Conduct detailed financial analysis and deliver actionable recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Monitor and manage hedging strategies to mitigate risk from interest rate and commodity fluctuations.
  • Act as both an individual contributor and leader, guiding initiatives and supporting colleagues.
  • Develop strong understanding of company drivers including contracts, customers, markets, and industry dynamics.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required. MBA, CFA, CPA, or CMA preferred.
  • 4–8 years of progressive experience in financial analysis, corporate finance, investment banking, private equity, corporate development, or Big 4 public accounting.
  • Strong background in capital structure planning, debt/equity issuance, credit agreements, and investor relations.
  • Proven ability to build and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including large dataset management and complex financial modeling.
  • Expertise in financial concepts such as 3-statement projections, risk management, and variance analysis.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically and provide actionable insights.
  • Strong communication skills with experience presenting to executives and influencing decision-making.
  • Self-starter with the drive to learn, grow, and take on increasing responsibility.
  • Attention to detail and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Minimal travel required.
