Schedule: Nights 5:30 PM - 5:30 AM
Job Summary
The CDL Truck Driver is responsible for safely transporting product to customer locations while operating in compliance with all safety, DOT, and company requirements. In this role, drivers operate end dump trailers with manual transmissions to haul coal between the facility and a customer site located approximately ten miles away. Coal is automatically loaded through truck silos. Drivers will complete multiple round trips per shift, typically averaging 12 to 13 loads during a night shift, returning to the site to reload after each delivery.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
•Apply procedures using sound judgment based on direction, observation, and prior experience
•Demonstrate working knowledge of Watco Safety and Operating Principles
•Safely operate a truck to assigned destinations
•Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and accurately complete condition reports
•Maintain a clean and organized trailer ready for loading
•Deliver outstanding customer service during all delivery and pickup operations
•Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and federal/state regulations
•Communicate professionally and effectively with team members, dispatch, and customers
•Respond promptly to accidents, incidents, or emergency situations
•Maintain a clean, safe, and well-functioning vehicle at all times
•Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and compliance requirements
•Assist in mentoring and training new or less experienced personnel
•Perform all duties in compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
•Enter and exit vehicles as needed for fueling and inspections; must be able to walk around the truck and perform tasks in extreme weather conditions
•Operate manual transmission vehicles (shift gears as required)
•Work effectively as part of a team, follow directions, and take on additional responsibilities as needed
•Other duties as assigned

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Must have or must be able to obtain a Class A CDL driver’s license.
