Starting Pay Rate: $20.00 CAD per hour

 

Shift: 1500 - 2300, Friday - Monday

 

Description

 

To perform various jobs associated with operations within the Agawa Canyon Railroad's mechanical shop.

 

Essential duties and responsibilities

 

  • Performs housekeeping chores within the facility and grounds, sweeping, shoveling, and general clean up.
  • Required to operate various pieces of equipment ranging from forklifts to telehandlers. Any experience on larger machines is a plus.
  • Assist mechanical team with duties and repairs as needed.
  • Participates in company training programs and related testing. Actively participate in safety programs and initiatives.
  • Perform all work in compliance with Company standards and procedures requirements.

 

Job Requirements

 

Education and Experience

 

  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Prior experience in a warehouse or an industrial environment with a stable work history.
  • Ability to operate a forklift, training will be offered for other equipment.

 

Certifications and Licenses

 

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.

 

Competencies, Skills, and Abilities

 

  • The ability to work from written and verbal instructions
  • Execute product transfer orders, work orders, and associated paperwork.
  • Must be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisor(s), adhere to required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules.
  • Ability to take initiative and work with co-workers to accomplish defined goals in a fast paced environment.

 

Physical demands

 

  • Physical requirements include but may not be limited to walk up and down stairs/ladders, negotiate uneven surfaces and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to withstand extreme weather conditions majority of the time will be working outside.
  • Must be able to wear standard PPE (Hard Hat, Goggles, Rain Gear, Steel Toe Boots), and qualify to wear a Full Face Respirator.
  • Ability to wear a half mask or full face respirator as needed

 

Working conditions

 

  • Must be able to withstand extreme weather conditions
  • Work will be event mix of inside shop environment and outdoors.

 

This position will provide opportunity for advancement to other crafts.
