Job Summary
This position is responsible for cleaning and inspecting repairs on railcars while ensuring safe and efficient facility operations. The role also supports training, troubleshooting, and maintaining supplies to meet customer and operational needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Clean and prepare railcars, such as boxcars or hoppers, using tools like shovels, brooms, and pressure washers
• Wash, inspect, and perform minor repairs on railcars or hoppers as needed
• Learn, understand, and provide guidance on railcar inspection practices, including coatings, markings, and other components
• Support daily operations by helping with customer needs, maintaining adequate supplies, and ensuring railcars are processed efficiently
• Make sure the washed volume of railcars is adequate
• Participate in training opportunities to build skills and stay current with role requirements
• Assist with safely switching railcars into and out of the wash facility
• Ability to work in tight or confined spaces
• Performs other duties as assigned

While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to loud noise, moving machinery parts, outdoor weather conditions and elements, airborne particles and fumes from gas, oil, and grease, welding arcs: and/or frequently exposed burns.
