Job Summary
The eLearning Multimedia Specialist produces the visual, audio, video, and animation assets that power engaging digital learning experiences. This role transforms complex operational and safety concepts into clear, memorable visual learning through motion graphics, animated explainers, animated diagrams, and micro-animations that reinforce key steps, hazards, decision points, and standards. The eLearning Multimedia Specialist reports to the Instructional eLearning Designer, who provides creative direction tied to learning outcomes and approves storyboards, scripts, and acceptance criteria.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Design and produce multimedia assets for eLearning modules: graphics, icons, illustrations, infographics, diagrams, and branded templates.
• Create animations to support visual learning, including motion graphics and animated explainers for processes and procedures.
• Develop animated diagrams and step-by-step visual walkthroughs that improve comprehension and retention.
• Produce micro-animations (highlights, overlays, callouts) that reinforce what good looks like and direct learner attention.
• Produce and edit video content including screen recordings, interviews, demonstrations, and microlearning segments aligned to approved scripts/storyboards.
• Record, edit, and master audio (or manage voiceover workflow), including cleanup, leveling, compression, and syncing for eLearning use.
• Apply accessibility practices: captions, transcripts, readable layouts, and appropriate contrast; optimize media for LMS delivery performance.
• Maintain an organized asset library and production standards (file formats, compression profiles, naming conventions, and storage).
• Participate in project planning led by the Instructional eLearning Designer; provide effort estimates and recommend the right media approach (speed versus polish) based on the learning need.
• Ensures media aligns to brand standards (visual identity, templates, and tone).
• Coordinate SME validation through the Instructional eLearning Designer to ensure visuals accurately reflect equipment, processes, PPE, signage, and safe work practices.
Qualifications
• 3+ years producing multimedia for digital learning or digital products, supported by a portfolio.
• Demonstrated experience creating motion graphics/animations that explain a process, procedure, or concept clearly.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud tools (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, Photoshop, Illustrator) or equivalent.
• Strong visual storytelling and information design skills (composition, typography, and visual hierarchy).
• Ability to translate technical procedures into clear animated visuals without sacrificing accuracy.
• Strong organization, time management, and stakeholder communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience producing content for safety, operations, or industrial environments (e.g., transportation, logistics, rail, warehouse, or field operations).
• Experience working within eLearning delivery constraints (compression, aspect ratios, browser performance) and collaborating with developers for integration.
• Experience with captioning workflows and accessibility standards.
Success Metrics and KPIs
• On-time delivery of media assets to support build schedules led by the Instructional eLearning Designer.
• Reduced rework through alignment to storyboards/scripts and production standards.
• Increased reuse of templates and animation assets that accelerate production.
• Learner feedback indicating improved clarity and comprehension due to visual and animated learning aids.
Culture & Values Fit
• Commitment to safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
• Ability to work effectively in operation-driven environments.
• Collaborative, people-focused, and growth-oriented mindset.
• Enthusiastic about learning innovation and creating measurable impact.
Portfolio Requirements
• Provide a portfolio link (or packaged examples) demonstrating multimedia production for digital learning: Include at least 4-5 samples, with 2-3 focused on animation (motion graphics, animated explainers, or animated diagrams).
• Provide video editing samples (microlearning, interview, field capture, screen recording, or training promo).
• Provide an audio/narration sample (cleaned/mixed) or a brief description of your audio workflow.
• For each sample, include a short note describing your role, tools used, and what problems the media solved for the learner.
• If samples are proprietary, provide blurred/redacted versions, still frames with a breakdown, or a short reel with context. TBD
